How to Celebrate Summer When Your Staff are Working Remotely

13 July 2021

As of next week, the government guidance on working from home is set to change. Employees can finally return the office but according to BBC News, almost all of the UK’s 50 biggest employers don’t plan for workers to be back full-time, with 43 choosing a hybrid model moving forward.

This sentiment is echoed by employees, as a survey by CHG Healthcare found that only 9% of workers are keen to return to the office full time. Over half (54%) would prefer a combination of office and home working and 32% would be interested in working from home full-time.

But whilst there are many benefits of working from home, there are challenges for both employers and employees.

  • How can employers cultivate a positive work culture?
  • How can employees build relationships with one another?
  • How can team leaders ensure their team feel recognised and appreciated for their hard work?

As we enter this new style of working for the first time, we’re here to help employers navigate the change and support their staff. As well as after work happy hour drinks, office block BBQs and summer parties, there are new ways businesses can engage and reward their staff wherever they are based.

Summer Party in a Box

Last year saw us transform an incredible Ibiza incentive into a virtual party that pulled out all the stops. As part of the event, guests received an Ibiza-themed MemMail package in the post, complete with summer refreshments and party accessories.

Whether it’s part of a wider event or you want to send your team a little something to celebrate the year so far, a Summer MemMail Box is the way to go.

Here’s a few ideas of what you can include, or we can create an entirely bespoke box based on your company or a specific theme:

  • A picnic in the park themed box with a picnic blanket, champagne flutes or jar glasses, and a selection of drinks and snacks to enjoy
  • An ultimate beer bucket box that will be the perfect accompaniment for watching all of the incredible sport taking place over the summer
  • A garden party box with outdoor decorations and accessories for a summer of celebration

Summer Themed Virtual Events

For companies with employees all over the country or globe, virtual events will continue to be a fantastic way of involving everybody.

Our newly launched Summer BBQ event is a virtual event led by a professional chef. Guests can learn how to cook professionally on a BBQ, or learn how to create a tasty BBQ themed meal in the comfort of their kitchen. They’ll receive everything they need to take part in the event in a branded MemMail package delivered to their door so it’s as stress-free and as easy as possible.

Alternatively, our Virtual Cocktail Masterclass is a classic whatever the time of year. Our Mixologist can change up the menu to include a refreshing selection of either alcoholic or non-alcoholic drinks complete with professional finishing touches. Guests will receive everything they need beforehand, including a cocktail making kit and glassware, in a branded MemMail package delivered to their door.

Outdoor and Festival Themed Events

For companies who are largely still working from home, events are the perfect opportunity to bring everyone together. It’s a chance to catch up properly, reflect on the year so far and relax away from the usual work environment.

Outdoor and festival themed events are always a hit but even more so if delegates are still unsure about attending mass events indoors. We can work with you to find the perfect balance that ensures everybody feels comfortable whilst having a fantastic time and making new memories.
