What to Expect in 2021: With Our Client Services Director

6 January 2021

After what can only be described as a whirlwind of a year for Inconnection, we caught up with Client Services Director, Adele Woods, to talk about what’s instore for the agency in 2021.

Hi Adele! 2020 wasn’t easy for many businesses but especially not a live events agency, how are you feeling about 2021?

2020 was incredibly tough at points but we’ve come out the other side even stronger and we’re feeling positive about 2021. The loyalty and support we’ve experienced from our clients has been phenomenal and we’re grateful to be going into 2021 with great people and businesses around us.

The UK is entering another lockdown this week but we’ve done it before and we can do it again. With services such as MemMail we’re in a fantastic position to support our clients through it which is a brilliant feeling.

Can you tell us how you think the events and travel industry might look in 2021?

We’re expecting the vaccine to massively accelerate the return of sporting and hospitality events which is great news for us and our clients. In terms of travel, we’re keeping our eye on the latest travel restrictions and planning upcoming events and incentives accordingly. Fortunately, we have great relationships with suppliers and venues in the UK and abroad so we’re able to be flexible where needed. We’re already seeing popular incentive destinations like Dubai implementing effective testing programmes so we’re hoping to see that kind of approach become more widely adopted in the near future.

2020 has been a big year for innovation at Inconnection, what role do you see these new services playing in 2021?

Yes it’s been a great year for launching new services, our MemMail sending service and Ready Made Events have really taken off which has been great to see. Whilst we slowly return to a version of normal, we’re pleased to be able to offer our clients a great deal of flexibility within our services as they complement each other and our live event offering really well.

Are there any other event or travel trends that you’re excited to see more of in 2021?

In terms of events, we’re looking forward to seeing hybrid events being used to their full potential as there’s so much opportunity there, especially on an international scale. We’ve also seen businesses embracing virtual events and we’re looking forward to making these experiences even more memorable for attendees in 2021. We’ve already launched some brand new Ready Made Events for January but there’s plenty more to come!

For travel, we’re anticipating a surge in demand later in the year with people wanting to make up for lost time by planning bucket list trips and once-in-a-lifetime adventures. These are some of our favourite trips to plan and deliver for clients so that’s very exciting!

Where’s the first place you’ll be travelling to once we’re able to travel freely again?

We have incentives booked for clients later on in the year to some amazing destinations. I do have a top pick but it’s a surprise for the incentive winners… so I couldn’t possibly say where it is. On a personal level, I’m looking forward to my postponed 2020 trip to Ibiza - can’t wait to get back to the white isle!

Are you able to give us a hint about anything else that might be coming from Inconnection in 2021?

Our Ready Made Events have proved massively popular with our clients so we’re working hard on expanding the offer for 2021. There’s so much we can do within the event format so stay tuned for some exciting updates coming soon…

Any final thoughts?

I’m proud of our agency, of the strength of our team and leadership and how we pivoted the business in 2020.
