Meet your London Comedy Lunch 2019 line up!
9 October 2019
With the nights drawing in and the weather taking a turn for the worse, thoughts in the Inconnection office are turning towards Christmas – and 2019’s London Comedy Lunch.
Thursday 5th December 2019 sees the return of the London Comedy Lunch to the City of London’s Honourable Artillery Company.
Over the last eight years our flagship annual event has established itself as a true highlight of the capital’s December events calendar, and the go-to festive event for sector-leading organisations from the worlds of IT, Sales and beyond.
With the most hotly anticipated London Comedy Lunch yet just around the corner, we wanted to introduce you properly to your full 2019 comedy line up. So, without further ado…
Your headliner: Jimmy Carr
Jimmy Carr is simply one of the biggest and most loved comedians of recent decades.
He’s best known in the UK as the king of the comedy panel show – he’s the host of 8 Out Of 10 Cats and its popular spin-off 8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown, as well as Roast Battle UK and Channel 4’s Big Fat Quiz of the Year.
He’s also one of the country’s hardest-touring comedians, regularly having to extend tours to meet demand. He performed to over 340,000 people on his last tour, and his latest – Terribly Funny – is his biggest yet.
Jimmy was the first UK comedian to be signed up for a comedy special with Netflix – this year the platform released his second special The Best of Ultimate Gold Greatest Hits to critical acclaim.
London Comedy Lunch veterans might remember Jimmy’s outrageous headline set back at 2011’s event – he’s only got bigger, better and more shocking since then…
Your support act: Tom Stade
Tom Stade is back at the London Comedy Lunch! The magnetic Canadian has spent the year touring his smash-hit show I Swear To…, and earned rave reviews testing his new show, You Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet, at 2019’s Edinburgh Fringe.
Tom has appeared on all of TV’s major stand-up shows, including Live at the Apollo, the John Bishop Show and Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow.
He’s also co-written with Frankie Boyle, and toured a new show every year since 2011. We can’t wait to welcome “the Rock ‘n’ Roll comedian” (Evening Standard) back to the HAC for this year’s London Comedy Lunch.
Your compere: Ed Gamble
This year’s compere and host is the inimitable Ed Gamble – an award-winning stand up and regular on BBC2’s Mock the Week.
He is also known and loved for the hit podcast Off Menu, which he co-hosts with comedian James Acaster. The podcast was nominated in the Best Entertainment category at this year’s 2019 British Podcast Awards.
A favourite on the UK’s live comedy circuit, Ed is currently touring Blizzard, his sold-out show from this year’s Edinburgh Fringe.
2019 promises to be an unforgettable year for the London Comedy Lunch. We can’t wait to welcome our comedians and all of you to this year’s event.
