London’s Best New Openings for Events & Incentives in 2019

4 December 2019

London regularly tops lists of the best destinations for events and incentives in the world – and with more great venues, hotels and restaurants opening in 2019, London is looking better than ever.

We’ve been researching the city’s newest additions to bring you a list of our absolute favourites. Keep reading to see who made the cut!

Events Venues

Magazine London
Greenwich Peninsula, SE10

A purpose-built blank canvas venue with events halls, rooms and mezzanines (think lots of polished concrete) offering space for up to 3,000 guests (7,000 if you include its outdoor space too). Magazine London has great views across Canary Wharf and Docklands, and it’s going to be a major player for brand events, awards dinners, conferences, exhibitions and more.

Illuminate at the Science Museum
South Kensington, SW7

The Science Museum has turned its 4th and 5th level into a crisp, sleek blank canvas venue. The capacity is around 400 for AGMS, conferences, dinners or reception-style events, and the big headline here is level 5’s panoramic window, which floods the space with natural light, and offers great views.

Evolution London
Battersea Park, SW8

Evolution London has had a rebrand and a revamp. Set in the heart of Battersea Park, Evolution offers 5,500m² of fully customisable inside space, and a 14,000m² site, all of which is available for exclusive hire. The specification is great, the in-house catering team are superb, and we love the park location.

Secret River Garden
Twickenham, TW1

The Secret River Garden is hidden away on Twickenham’s lazy riverside, all wild flowers and woodland, elegant marquees and hay bale seating. It’s only available to hire for a few select dates a year, but it’s an unforgettable setting for drinks receptions, away days or mini-festival events for up to 200.

Restaurants

14 Hills at 120 Fenchurch St
City of London, EC3M

14 Hills at 120 Fenchurch St is a botanical-themed new rooftop restaurant, ideal for events, receptions and group dining. Set one floor below the Walkie Talkie’s famous Sky Garden, the latest offering from the D&D London Group will offer some serious cityscape views, taking in the Thames, Tower Bridge, the Shard, the Tower of London and more.

IT London
Mayfair, W1S

The new London outpost for Ibiza’s IT is a lively, multi-use space offering private dining, a great cocktail bar and gallery space for emerging artists. Headed up by Gennaro Esposito of two Michelin-starred La Torre del Saracino, expect Instagram-friendly Mediterranean dishes, and a laidback Balearic soundtrack.

Silo
Hackney Wick, E9

Douglas McMaster has moved Silo, the world’s first zero-waste restaurant, from Brighton to the White Building at CRATE Brewery. McMaster’s ethical approach to fine dining doesn’t detract from the food – unique takes on British classics – and we love the quirky interior design by Nina Woodcroft.

Vardo
Chelsea, SW3

Vardo is a landmark new restaurant in a stone and glass pavilion in Chelsea’s Duke of York Square, and it’s great. The first West London outing from the Caravan group, Vardo offers a more upmarket version of what Caravan is known for – great coffee, lazy brunches, laid-back dining and easy-going service.

Hotels

Hard Rock Hotel London
Marylebone, W1H

The Hard Rock Hotel brings an injection of attitude to London’s hotel scene. It’s big – 900 rooms – and it’s home to two bars and the Hard Rock Café Oxford Street. It’s also full of plenty of the chain’s signature memorabilia, from Freddie Mercury’s piano to David Bowie outfits.

The Standard
King’s Cross, WC1H

Close to Euston, St Pancras and King's Cross, with Granary Square's canal-side restaurants and shops on the doorstep, the first UK offering from the visionary Standard group offers over 250 rooms, a recording studio and a rooftop restaurant steered by Peter Sanchez Iglesias of Bristol's Michelin-starred Casamia.

The Hoxton Southwark
Southwark, SE1

We’re big fans of the Hoxton hotels in Shoreditch and Holborn, and their Southwark effort is no different. Located on the south side of Blackfriars Bridge, expect all of their usual hallmarks – leather armchairs, exposed brick etc. – as well as a rooftop seafood restaurant.

The Dixon
London Bridge, SE1

The new boutique offering from Marriott’s Autograph Collection is a great mix of styles – think wood panelling and chandeliers in the entrance hall, and a cool diner-style restaurant. All walking distance from some of the South Bank’s best venues, from Tate Modern to the OXO Tower and Shakespeare’s Globe.
