RockyPop Chamonix, France

Fancy Chamonix but travelling with a younger group? The vital, imaginative RockyPop feels like stepping into a classic arcade game, with bright colours, retro decor and a laid-back atmosphere.

The restaurant is styled like a trendy food market, and added extras include free shuttle buses to the slopes, a cocktail bar, hairdresser, film screenings and arcade games. Bonkers and brilliant.    

Four Seasons Megève Megève, France  

The Yin to Chamonix’s Yang, Megève also sits under Mont Blanc around an hour from Geneva. The atmosphere here is relaxed and the skiing is outstanding –  especially earlier in the season when the low altitude isn’t an issue.

Opening late this year, the sleek new Four Seasons Megève will be the only hotel on the Mont d’Arbois slopes. Expect a high-end, high-ticket offering with just 55 rooms (with open fires and balconies), as well as dining options including the two Michelin-starred Le 1920 restaurant.

Le Taos Tignes, France

Altitude, reliable snow and some of the best lift-accessed slopes in the world give Tignes the edge over nearby Val d’Isere.

Le Taos is a new hotel by Montagnettes group with a unique, New Mexico-inspired ambience. The rooms are restful and beautifully finished, and the Wellness Centre’s spa and pool are great extras. The big pluses here are the uninterrupted views from the Aiguille Percée to the Grande Sassière, and direct access onto the Lavachet piste.

Avoriaz is the heart of buzzing Portes du Soleil, a ski area straddling the Franco-Swiss border around 90 mins from Geneva. From Avoriaz corporate ski trips can quickly access slopes from the Morzine and Les Gets pistes in France to Les Crosets and Champéry in Switzerland.
