Transport

Italy is just a short flight from the UK - so tourist hotspots, particularly Rome and coastal resorts, get extremely busy over the peak June-September summer season. This means more expensive flights that need booking earlier.

Airlines including BA, Norwegian, Alitalia and budget options easyjet and Ryanair fly regularly to cities across Italy from the UK.  London - Rome flights take under 2.5 hours.

Transport from airports to city centres and resort hotels ranges from trains and shuttle buses to hire cars, and can be booked in advance.

Where to Go & What to Do

With some of Europe’s most vibrant and beautiful cities, dramatic landscapes, jaw-dropping palaces, crystal clear seas and more, the possibilities are almost endless for your Italian incentive travel. Our must-dos list includes:

Skiing: Ski resorts in Italy have a more laid-back atmosphere than in France, Switzerland and Austria. This makes them ideal for skiing with less experienced incentive travel groups. Budgets can stretch a surprisingly long way in Italy too. Our favourite Italian ski resorts include Passo Tonale for unreal views of the Italian Alps, Sauze d’Oulx for a legendary après ski scene, and the Dolomites’ classiest resort, Cortina d'Ampezzo. ,

Rome: The Eternal City is stacked with iconic cultural attractions - the Coliseum, the Pantheon, Vatican City and more - and incentive travel activities can include driving tours in classic Fiat 500s or Vespa scooters, Italian cookery lessons with top chefs, or a themed treasure hunt taking in the city's best-known sights. ,

The Amalfi Coast: Sprawling over 30 miles of the Sorrentine Peninsula, the Amalfi Coast’s steep, whitewashed towns are perched on dramatic cliffs that plummet suddenly into clear seas.  Treat your incentive travel group to life-affirming day under sail on the Mediterranean, a day trip to Pompeii, and an exquisite Italian meal overlooking the sea at Positano.

Venice: Venice is one of the most decadent and beautiful cities on the planet. Start with a gondola ride and immersing your group in the Rialto Bridge and St Mark's Square, finish with wine-tasting at one of Venice's hidden wine cellars and world-class shopping at the lavish new T Fondaco dei Tedeschi department store.

Restaurants & Venues

Venues for events, prize-givings and receptions are only limited by your budget and imagination in Italy – from grand canal palaces and mountain-top castles to state-of-the-art modern conference venues, Italy can deliver.

But restaurants are really the heart of things here. The country is spilling over with exceptional destination restaurants, from world-renowned names to buzzing, bustling local trattorias. A special mention has to go to Modena's Osteria Francescana, named the best restaurant in the world at 2016's coveted World’s 50 Best Restaurants Awards.

Club del Doge Restaurant in Venice boasts one of the most beautiful waterside terraces of any restaurant anywhere, and if you're on the Amalfi coast then the beachside Da Tommaso allo Scoglio, accessed by boat from Positano, is an experience your incentive travel group will never forget.
