Spotlight on... Disneyland Paris Incentives

19 June 2019

Inconnection recently planned, delivered and managed a client incentive trip to the Happiest Place on Earth (or at least the happiest place in Europe!) – Disneyland Paris.

This laid-back three-day incentive took in the best of Disneyland, with a stunning hotel, great food, plenty of free time to explore and all the Disney magic our group could handle.

With two Disney Parks, seven hotels, a unique golf course and the sprawling Disney Village, Disneyland Paris is an unforgettable destination with a huge amount to offer incentive groups. Join us for a look at what it added to our client’s recent trip, and what it could offer yours.

How to get There

By Train: Our client’s group travelled by Eurostar from St Pancras – an exciting journey that was all part of the experience.

They stepped onto the train in entral London, and arrived at Disneyland Paris in 2 hrs 45 mins, disembarking just a two-minute walk from the parks.

By Plane: Major airports across the UK offer direct flights to Paris from airlines including Flybe, Air France, BA and EasyJet. Most flight times are under 1hr 30 mins. Disneyland Paris is around 1 hour from Paris’s airports via direct shuttle bus.

What to Do

Dive into the Parks: Across its two parks – Disneyland Park and the Walt Disney Studios Park – Disneyland Paris offers over 50 rides and attractions, including classic Pirates of the Caribbean and Star Wars-themed experiences.

Alternatively, attendees can wander and see where it takes them – everything is walking distance away and there’s something unexpected happening around every corner, whatever the time of day.

Our group also enjoyed early access to the parks, immersing themselves in the magic before the general public.

Enjoy spectacular live shows: Create some memories. Take in elaborate stage shows, follow our client group's lead and enjoy breath-taking illuminations in the Magic Kingdom, or get your adrenaline fix at the Moteurs… Action! Stunt Show Spectacular.

Take it easy in the Village: Hit the Disney Village for a great range of cafes, bars and restaurants. After dinner head for the IMAX cinema – or book a flight in one of the world's biggest hot air balloons and soak up the views across the parks for an evening your group will never forget.

Hit the fairways: Disneyland Paris is full of surprises. Its three 9-hole golf courses can be combined in a number of ways to create an 18-hole round as relaxing or challenging as you like, and the Club House’s bar and grill restaurant are great for soaking up the sun afterwards.

Where to Stay

There are some excellent hotels in and around Disneyland Paris, from themed hotels just steps from the main attractions, to luxury properties peppered around the edges of the park.

The right location and feel for you will depend on your group and your incentive. Our favourites include:

  • Disney’s Newport Bay Club: For our recent client event we chose Disney’s Newport Bay Club. Completely renovated in Spring 2016, this 4-star hotel offered our group an immersive base on the shores of Lake Disney. Around 15 minutes from the park on foot (less by free shuttle) the hotel also boasts two restaurants, a pool, sauna and steam bath.

  • Disneyland Hotel: Located at the entrance of Disneyland Paris, a 5-minute walk from the heart of the parks, this is the quintessential Disney castle hotel. 5-star luxury surrounded by all the glitz and glamour you expect from Disneyland Paris. The Fantasia-themed cocktail bar is a nice touch too.

  • Disney’s Sequoia Lodge: This cosy, comfortable hotel feels like an American mountain retreat. The bar and restaurant stick to the theme too, with open fireplaces and comfort food buffets, States-style. All just a 15-minute walk from the parks.

  • Radisson Blu: Looking for a hotel that’s close to the action but a little less… Disneyland? Try the Radisson Blu – 4-star contemporary luxury nestled in the heart of Disneyland Paris’s 27-hole golf course.

Where to Eat and Drink

There are over 50 restaurants across Disneyland Paris. Meal vouchers can be redeemed in any restaurant, ideal for incentive groups being given the freedom to explore.

With the exception of dedicated 'Meet & Great & Eat' events (families meeting Disney favourites over dinner) you can't really go wrong with food on site:

A la Carte: Table-service restaurants here are great – try Rémy's special ratatouille at Bistrot Chez Rémy, or our client group's choices: seafood at Captain Jack’s - Restaurant des Pirates, and outstanding steaks and sides at the Silver Spur Steakhouse.

Buffets: Disneyland Paris goes big on all-you-can-eat buffets at restaurants across the Parks, Village and hotel restaurants – come with an appetite!

Quick-Service: Disneyland Paris’s 40+ quick-service restaurants and snack bars offer everything from stone-baked pizza to gourmet burgers – try a Jedi Burger at Café Hyperion, or head to Restaurant En Coulisse after the Moteurs… Action! Stunt Show Spectacular.

Bars: After dinner at Captain Jack's our client group headed to Disney Village Sports Bar – where some of the group also watched the FA Cup final – but there are a range of great bars here, from the marina-side luxury of the Captain’s Quarters at the Newport Bay Hotel to the rowdy buzz of Billy Bob’s Country Western Saloon in the Village.

Part travel incentive, part money-can’t-buy experience, Disneyland Paris is a truly magical destination. It’s accessible from the UK, compact  enough to allow for minimised travel time and maximised experiences, and uniquely equipped to deliver an incentive packed with unforgettable moments.
