6 Event and Travel Trends for 2021

22 December 2020

The past 12 months have transformed the event and travel industry and whilst in many ways we’re hopeful for a version of normality to return, there’s a few things to come out of 2020 that we’re happy to keep around. Keep reading for our top 6 event and travel trends for 2021…

Hybrid Events

Whilst virtual events have taken over 2020, we’re expecting to see businesses fully embrace hybrid events in 2021. Hybrid events combine the technology and scale of virtual events with smaller, in-person events at a local or regional level. There’s the possibility of hosting multiple in-person events at the same time which can be connected virtually, or the virtual technology can be used to expand the scale and reach of a singular in-person event.

Emotional Connection

The importance of emotional connection has become apparent in 2020 and will become even more so in 2021. With many people continuing to work from home, it can be harder to connect with each other and we expect that businesses will be making the most of creative ways to help their employees connect with one another and with clients. Our MemMail service is ideal for sending thoughtful packages that could make all the difference.

Time to Travel

With the vaccine now being rolled out across the country, it’s expected that travel will begin to return to normal although extra precaution and planning will be required. We’re working closely with our global network of suppliers to monitor the situation and provide the most flexible and lowest risk travel options for our clients and delegates in 2021. Using the Senses

Naturally, video calls and virtual events use less of our senses and as a result, the experiences can be less engaging and less memorable to attendees. In 2021, we’re helping businesses reverse that trend by providing ways of making virtual and hybrid events fully immersive experiences that use all five senses. Our Ready Made Events Gallery includes wine and cheese tasting, chocolate making and even cooking classes. Take a look now.

Personalisation

Personalisation has become one of the most effective marketing tools but in 2021, we’re expecting to see much more of it in events and travel. Services like our MemMail sending service can be used to send personalised invitations or thank you gifts, and we can also personalise elements of the event itself to each attendee.
