Despite the heatwave across Europe and the summer in full swing here at home, it’s time to start thinking about Christmas.

The Deck

The deck is an ultra-modern events space on the roof of the South Bank’s National Theatre. Perfectly placed for panoramas of the river, St Paul’s and more, The Deck offers some of the best views in town – and inside it's just as spectacular.

Every year the venue is decked out with a new theme – former themes include a snow globe, ‘Putting on the Glitz’ and the open fires and antler chandeliers of the ‘Chalet Noel'. With packages including complimentary drinks, this is a very good (and very central) London Christmas party option.

Tower Bridge

Tower Bridge offers two of the best London Christmas party venues and two very different experiences.

The Tower Bridge Walkways are a steel-beamed, glass-floored events space that span the bridge 40m above the Thames. The Walkways theme this year is the Moonlight Noel – expect starlight-soaked tables, midnight blue dressings and an elegant, sophisticated evening.

Tower Bridge's other venue, the Engine Rooms, are offering 'Yule and Log House' themed events - a cosy, alpine forest setting that begs for bad Christmas jumpers and hot toddies all round. Take your pick!

The View from the Shard

Perched almost 250m above London, Christmas party venues don't come much more high impact than the Shard. The views are the huge draw here, with unrivalled cityscape panoramas forming the backdrop to events at London's tallest building.

London Christmas party groups can privately book the open-air skydeck on level 72, and enjoy dinner and cocktails under the stars while the city glitters below.

The (indoor) viewing gallery a few floors lower may be a safer bet given London's weather in December, but either way you're guaranteed a night to remember.

Tobacco Dock

Close to London's Tech City, the City of London and the Tower of London, immerse yourself in this year's 'Secret Winter Garden' theme. Indoor Christmas trees, snow and atmospheric lighting make a winter wonderland of this central, Grade I listed venue.

Packages include a drink's reception, a four-course meal, entertainment from cabaret acts, circus performers and dancers, before a night to remember with cocktails in the Winter Secret Garden, dodgems, photo booths and more.

The London Comedy Lunch, HAC
